Sarah is an intellectual property lawyer who advises clients on a wide range of both litigation and commercial matters.

Sarah graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2001 with a first class honours degree in Natural Sciences (Physiology). She was awarded the Riches Prize for Physiology and made an Honorary Scholar of Clare College. She qualified as a Solicitor at Baker & McKenzie in 2006, and joined Marks & Clerk Solicitors in January 2007.

Since joining the firm, she has gained extensive experience in patent infringement matters, particularly in the biotech sector. The matters Sarah has worked on require a high degree of scientific expertise, and in particular relate to pharmaceutical formulations, antibody technologies, genotyping and gene expression. Her patent work also includes acting on an employee- inventor compensation dispute in the field of medical diagnostics, and patent entitlement proceedings in the Patent Office.

Sarah also has experience in advising clients in relation to pharmaceutical regulatory matters.

Sarah has also advised clients in relation to infringement of other intellectual property rights including design rights, trade marks and passing off.

A large part of Sarah’s practice has involved advising on commercial matters in relation to the development and exploitation of intellectual property rights. She has extensive experience in coordinating multi-jurisdictional commercial transactions, in particular relating to the exploitation and assignment of pharmaceutical patents. Sarah has also advised clients in relation to distribution agreements, licensing and other general commercial agreements.

Sarah joined Marks & Clerk Solicitors in January 2007.  She is a member of the Law Society. She speaks conversational French and enjoys swimming, reading and spending time with her family.
