Graham advises on all aspects of intellectual property law. His work is primarily concerned with litigation and dispute resolution, with particular emphasis on patent litigation in areas with a high level of scientific or technical content. He has acted in infringement and validity disputes in a wide range of fields, including the chemicals, biotechnology, medical and electronics sectors. He frequently acts in multi-jurisdictional disputes, co-ordinating and working with legal teams in Europe and the United States.
Graham’s patent work has included cases on pharmaceutical formulations, insulin-like growth factors and binding proteins, single chain antibodies, stent valves and occluders, wound dressings, artificial sweeteners, radio frequency identification devices, encryption methods and flow meters for use in the oil and gas sector.
He has extensive experience of legal proceedings relating to other intellectual property rights, such as trade marks, designs, trade secrets and confidential information, including emergency injunction applications, UK and Community opposition proceedings and infringement and validity disputes.
Graham also advises on commercial and transactional matters. A significant part of his practice consists of advising clients in connection with due diligence projects, the intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions and the development, licensing and commercial exploitation of intellectual property rights.
Graham joined the firm in November 2003 and became a partner in August 2007. He is a member of the Law Society and Licensing Executives Society and an active member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Graham speaks German and French and his interests are running, hill walking, photography and wine.
